My name is José Lopes, I graduated in Dental Medicine at the Instituto Ciências da Saúde Norte in 1996. I always wanted to be a health professional, either a physician or a dentist, and I chose to be a dentist. Later, in 2010, I decided to deepen my knowledge in the area of Periodontology, so I enrolled in the Master’s Degree in Periodontology, obtaining a Master’s Degree. I have attended international scientific congresses in the area of Periodontology and participated as an author in some posters and articles. This state-of-the-art follow-up allows me to travel a bit around the world. Travelling is something of a paradise for me, making contact with other cultures and ways of life is a fascinating experience. Responsible for the Periodontology department having as most rewarding task the preservation and stabilization of teeth and all dental supporting tissue. This area allows teamwork conducive to knowledge integration as well as a constant challenge towards knowledge integration.

I am the clinical director of Clínica Dentária D’avenida in Matosinhos.

For some years now, I have been participating in the Hand on Implants course, following an invitation by Dr. Nuno Pereira. This is a way of transmitting knowledge and training to colleagues who wish to start a career in implantology.
